Harry Morgan
Glass and Concrete
44 x 24 x 24 cm
Morgan is best known for his sophisticated synthesis of two contrasting materials: glass and concrete. His intertextual approach is motivated by his interest in the interaction of the opposites, the transparent and opaque; mass and void; robust and fragile. Referencing techniques such as Venetian glassblowing and the Brutalist architecture, Morgan emphasizes the personalities the two materials embody. His ‘Untitled' work explores boundaries of the cultural connotations between the two materials, the similarities and differences the two hold within.
