‘Snowberry’ is a tactile sculpture that presents a sustainable contact with organic materials. Having a material-based approach to her art, Schneider creates insight on Dutch craftsmanship, paying tribute to labour-intensive techniques. The voluminous, monochromatic panel has an almost meditative effect, while showing the beauty and value of what we classify as waste. Deeply inspired and motivated by nature, the artist repeats its organic shapes in a thought-provoking manner. Part of the “Guiding the Future. No Waste” exhibition by the Rademakers gallery, the sculpture immerses the viewer into a conversation on the importance of sustainability, particularly in the fisheries sector, the origin of the materials used for this artwork.
