Maarten Baas is fascinated with clocks. He is known for his exclusive clock designs and/or installations. Through these pieces, Baas investigates the perception of time. Is it noumenal, or phenomenal? Subjective, or universal?

Real Time Confetti Clock is just one of these works; Maarten Baas blends design, video art, and performance art for this unique piece. The figure in the video is himself, he created this depiction by creating hour and minute hands by confetti for 12 hours.

The work edges the time perception between the performer and the audience. As well as he plays with the fine line between the process of art production and the final artwork.
