In his series “Origin of the Beginning” Levi van Veluw explores the starting moments of childhood memories, which simultaneously serves as a conceptual storyline throughout his work that consist of photographs, installations, and videos. In this series the depicted individuals as well as the scenery is covered in brown blocks which alienates the typical atmosphere of familiar environments. Thus, giving the room a rather lonely and cold ambience. Through this series Levi van Veluw deals with his own tenuous relationship to childhood memories, managing a vulnerable yet common state of being.
