As an emerging artist and holder of the Sir Frank Bowling Scholarship, Hettie Inniss aims at capturing multisensory experiences coupling them to the notion of memory and nostalgia. “Don’t cling to tight” captures such fragmented memory, revitalized through Hettie Inniss’s unique use of vibrant colour and Proustian approach. Through previously mentioned technique, she challenges the boundaries of abstraction and figurative art, transporting the viewer to foreign places but empowering to yield into the unforeseen sea of senses. Thus, allowing for unexpected, spontaneous stimulation, triggering an intuitive recall of embodied memory.
