Phil Bloom
The Dutch artist, graphic designer, and performer was born in 1945. She studied in several art academies in The Netherlands; the Royal Academy of Art, the Free Academy, and the Rietveld Academy. After her studies, she lived in New York and India for a short time and focused her artistic career on her drawings and performance arts. She was a part of the Fluxus network and emphasized this movement in her pieces. Phil Bloom made her most famous art piece in a Dutch TV show in 1967 by reading a newspaper while naked during the broadcast. This performance is still remembered by the controversy it created in the Netherlands. She currently still lives and works in Amsterdam.
