Mimmo Paladino
Mimmo Paladino is an Italian artist born in Paduli in 1948. After attending the Liceo artistico di Benevento, he moved to Milan in the 1970s. His figurative paintings combine elements of classical mythology, Christianity, primitive and modern art. Paladino primarily focuses on the topics of faith, death, and rituals. He is considered one of the major artists of the Transavanguardia movement and is a significant figure in Expressionism, known for his geometric depiction of the human forms. Today, his works are represented in major museums like Tate in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Australian National Gallery in Canberra.
