Loes van Roozendaal
Loes van Roozendaal is a Dutch visual artist born in 1996 in Amersfoort. Upon graduating from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht in 2024, her graduate work “Glass 11:00” participated in the Best of Graduates 2024 exhibition, and won the Lakeside Collection Award 2024. Her work often captures home objects as a starting point. By repeatedly painting the same subjects at different times of day, she attempts to capture the passage of time within the painting, translating light and space. Her works invite the viewer to explore the different layers of oil paint, introducing subtle fluctuations in subject matter as the space and light change. Through this inventive approach, Van Roozendaal depicts the constant motion of our surroundings. Her powerful, yet elegant work is rapidly gaining interest across the Netherlands.
