Koen van der Broek
Koen van den Broek is a Belgian artist born in Bree in 1973. Since his student days at the Royal Academy of Antwerp and the Academy of Visual Arts of Breda, he traveled extensively, capturing the architectural interventions on landscapes. His works often originate from photographs of streets, and the minuscule details within the man-made constructions. Van den Broek’s oil paintings hold a distinctive, abstract, yet playful character. His paintings have appeared in solo and group shows across Western Europe, Britain, the United States, and South Korea. Additionally, he is represented in both private and public collections across the world, some of them being LACMA in Los Angeles, the Busan Museum of Art in Korea, and the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp.
