David Shrigley
David Shrigley is a British artist born in Macclesfield in 1968. He is a celebrated contemporary artist known for his quick-witted drawings and hand-rendered texts. Using child-like imagery, he depicts animals, aliens, and people in their everyday environment with irony and humor. Apart from his drawing practice, Shringley also creates content in both digital and physical media, from album cover designs to political cartoons and animations. In his sculptural works, Shringley transforms found objects into eccentric, satirized figurines, often imbued with curious proportions. Over the years, he has received numerous honors, such as the Turner Prize in 2013. His works can be found in the public collections of major institutions, including the MoMA in New York, the Tate in London, the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, and the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, among many others.
